Farms using peat as bedding for poultry, dairy farms and stables
Peat is especially sought-after in the winter for bedding. Peat gives off heat; therefore, the feet of birds and hooved animals are effectively protected against low temperatures, which have a positive effect on the general condition and health of birds and animals.
Auxiliary power generation
In the EU, the number of 2-10 MW small-size power stations is growing with each passing year – all of them use peat because conventional energy sources are becoming more expensive. The most economical are small and medium-sized peat-fueled TPPs. Companies that supply heat to private households are most interested in peat fuel.
